Pretoria is a town found in the north part of Gauteng Province, S. A. .

It is among the states’s 3 capital towns, serving as the executive ( executive ) and de facto state capital ; the others are Cape City , the legislative capital, and Bloemfontein, the legal capital. Pretoria is contained in the Town of Tshwane Urban Municipality as one of a few constituent previous administrations ( among which also Centurion and Soshanguve ). Pretoria itself is commonly known as Tshwane an arguable suggested name change, the standing being still being decided as of 2010. The city’s original name was Pretoria Philadelphia ( “Pretoria of loving love” ).

It gave its name to the Pax Praetoriana, referring to the country’s relative stability.
